Dr. Prashanth Kumar Marulasiddappa, Vice-Principal, CDSIMER, is a keen academician and an administrator. He completed his Postgraduation from Bangalore Medical College. He worked as a Professor of Physiology, for over 2 years, at Garyounis University, Benghazi, Libya, one of the most important Institutes of higher education in Libya. He served as Head of the Department of Physiology at both MVJ Medical College and Rajarajeshwari Medical College, Bengaluru for over 8 years.

He is also the coordinator of Medical Education Unit and is actively involved in organizing training programs for faculty members and post-graduate students in medical education technology. He serves as the Chairman of the Board of Studies (Preclinical), Dayananda Sagar University.
