Forensic Medicine

Forensic Medicine is defined as “Application of medical knowledge to aid in administration of justice”. The Department deals with medico-legal work like Autopsy, exhumation, age estimation, and instils a sense of professional ethics and responsibility and thereby helps young medicos in attaining higher standards in medical practice and avoid medical negligence.

The Department has a well-equipped Mortuary with cold storage facility for dead bodies, well lit and ventilated autopsy room.

Vision

To educate and empower students to develop interest in advanced scientific analysis of medical evidences for the promotion of truth and justice.

Mission

  • To  provide quality Forensic Medicine and Toxicology education
  • To train and educate students in medico-legal work and instill a sense of ethics and professional responsibility in their day to day practice.
  • To make students ethically responsible doctors and avoid medical negligence.
